Portland Lean Workshop
Registration Policies & Procedures
(Note: This section will print on page
3 & 4 when you print or view in print preview)
-
Payments:
-
Payments must be made using the PayPal button process.
PayPal accepts many forms of credit card, wire
transfer or cash.
-
Please contact us if
you would like to pay differently due to paying for
more than 3 students or paying for multiple classes
(or all 12 classes). We will discuss your
options to pay and include your reduced price when
paying for all 12 classes.
-
Creating a PayPal ID
for your organization is not possible. It must
be done using your personal information and then you
would receive reimbursement through your employer.
-
MEC will e-mail you
a PDF printable receipt within 8 hours of paying for
your class.
-
To receive your
complimentary free class for registering for all 12
classes, we will allow you to avoid paying for the
last class, and we will provide a receipt for the
entire transaction.
-
Price of class rises
$20 per person for those who register within 72
hours of the class. Late registrants will see
the price reflected on the web site and PayPal
basket.
-
Registration
Cancellations & Changes:
-
If you need to
cancel your registration, please notify Matt
Morrissette immediately.
-
Refunds for a
cancellations are not provided; however, you can
transfer your registration to another individual or
another class date. No administrative change
fee will be applied. A new receipt will be
e-mailed to you showing the final changes.
-
Classes may be
rescheduled due to bad weather. We will never
cancel a class due to bad weather, and we will work
with registered students to accommodate the best new
date.
-
If less than 10
registrations are received by 5 work days prior to
the class, we will cancel the class. In this
case, we will refund your registration fee using
PayPal's easy refund process. If a class needs
to be cancelled, the registrants who are on the
Green Belt Certification class track will need to
add these hours on to their qualification hours to
become Lean Green Belt Certified (see those
stipulations below). We don't foresee this
happening, but we need to accommodate and respect
all parties investments.
-
Coming to Class:
-
You are only
required to bring necessary writing and note taking
materials.
-
Classes will be
taught using a LCD projector, hands-on simulation
exercises, classroom computer (for you to view and
try Excel & other applications), worksheets,
quizzes, handouts, and breakout groups. If you
come to more than one class, we recommend creating a
binder to bring and keep all class materials
together.
-
We may have have a
special offering at one or more of our workshops in
the form of a Lean, 6 Sigma, statistics, simulation,
process mapping or other related software tool.
We will notify registrants of this in case you want
to bring your laptop to the class to view or trial
it.
-
Please ask us
beforehand and we will be glad to bring one of our
on-line Lean products (simulation kits) for you to
see and receive a short demonstration. You
will see all of our products over the course of the
12 months because we use them also for teaching.
-
All information is
considered confidential between all parties that
attend each workshop. If your company requires
a non-disclosure agreement to be signed, please
bring the necessary documentation and copies for all
parties. You can make copies on site.
-
There will be
complimentary refreshments including coffee.
Please let us know if you have any diet preferences,
and we will accommodate your needs with no problem.
-
There is always a
chance that we may need to change the venue for
where classes are held. Classes are currently
being held at VTEC in Portland who have a very
scalable location to accommodate under 10 and above
50 class sizes. Class venue may change if the
number of registrants and timing of when students
register varies. If students register late and
there is a surge of registrants, VTEC's larger
classrooms may be blocked. Also, if we notice
that most students come from a particular area, we
may decide to hold the classes at a more convenient
location to those customers.
-
Lean Green Belt
Certification Qualifications:
-
Taking 11 or 12
classes equates to approximately 33 to 36 hours of
formal classroom Lean training. This is
equivalent to our 32 hour, 4 day Lean Green Belt
Certification training class minus the Lean Green
Belt project preparation and final test
qualifications.
-
Students of 11 or 12
of these workshops will need to arrange 4 additional
hours to learn how to complete their Lean Green Belt
project preparation and final test qualifications.
We prefer that students take these 4 hours and
spread them over the course of the 12 months,
perhaps arranging us to conduct these four hours of
training before or after one or more of the 12
workshop classes.
-
The price to
complete the project and testing hours to become
Lean Green Belt Certified will be determined once
the total number of students is known. The
more students who choose this option will reduce the
price significantly. The standard price for
our Lean Green Belt Certification class is $2,500.
Price for 11 workshops for an individual is $649
($59/class).
-
The fee for the
remaining Lean Green Belt Certification classroom
training will also include the standard items
provided such as: Lean handbook, Lean audio
book, Kaizen cards, Kaizen toolbox of excel forms,
and Lean articles. This fee also covers the
cost of the training room, our time and these
materials.
-
The four hours of
remaining time to become Lean Green Belt certified
needs to be split. We will conduct preparatory
training for your Green Belt project in one session.
Then we will provide follow up training to evaluate
your project results and provide a Lean Green Belt
written test. Homework assignments will also
be given during the course of the 12 months.
